TAG HEUER AQUARACER

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer has been updated with a number of jealousy inducing features. Here’s seven of our favourites.

Yachts

As far as professional sports watches go, TAG’s Aquaracer is one of the classics, featuring a timeless design along with dependable reliability. TAG has given its heavy-duty timepiece a refresh, turning it into an even bolder timekeeping instrument. Here’s what the Aquaracer now packs below its 12-facet bezel.

QUICK-READ HANDS

The sword-shaped hour hand has been made wider and filled with green Super-LumiNova. The Aquaracer’s minute hand, meanwhile, has been differentiated with a bright blue Super LumiNova and a narrower form to make at-a-glance reading easier.

WEIGHT LOSS

Overall, the new 43mm Aquaracer has lost some weight, as the case, bezel and bracelet have all been slimmed down.

BEZEL UPDATES

A reconfiguration of the teeth has made the unidirectional bezel smoother and quieter. Plus, with new fluting, it’s easier to grip – good news for underwater users.

CLEANER DIAL

The horizontal lines on the dial that are very 1970s (TAG’s first-ever dive watch took the plunge in 1978) have been spaced out to clean up the dial, which comes in green, blue, silver, or black.

WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY

You’ll never lose track of the date with a new magnifier window at 6 o’clock that makes the number super legible from wider angles. Also, the magnifier has been placed under the glass to maintain a smooth surface.

CASEBACK FACELIFT

The caseback has been reunited with the scaphander diving suit helmet from the 2004 Aquaracer, and has had a little facelift with more angular lines and a hexagonal background.

CROWNING MOMENT

Eight of the hour markers on the watch have been made octagonal while the crown now has 12 sides, making it easier to grip.
