Franco-Swiss watchmaker Reservoir is delighted to introduce its latest comic-driven timepiece produced in collaboration with horological customisation house, LabelNoir.
The RESERVOIR X LabelNoir x Popeye model sees the popular 20th-century cartoon character Popeye take centre stage. First introduced in 1929, Popeye’s lasting esteem pairs perfectly with the RESERVOIR ethos of bringing boldness to life through precise and thrilling timepieces, and this timepiece is the perfect companion for everyday use with a 50m water resistance and grey nubuck leather strap. Beneath the anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a picture of Popeye in full charge can be seen on the dial, hand-painted alongside the bright white comic-style indices, assisting in its high legibility.
Notable features include a 41.5mm titanium case clad in grey DLC and a satin finish, courtesy of LabelNoir, as well as a 240˚ retrograde configuration. The minutes are displayed on three-fourths of the surface, with Popeye’s arm sweeping from “00” to “60” and then snapping back again at the top of each hour. The Reservoir Calibre RSV-240 next-generation automatic movement allows for a power reserve of 56 hours and can be viewed through the sapphire exhibition case back, adorned with a winking Popeye at its centre.
