COCOURS D’ELEGANCE

It’s not all high-pressure business at Cannes, as on the Saturday, the Concours D’Elegance sees a parade of 10 dayboats of less than 12 metres compete for the title.

Now in its fifth year, this display of classic and modern craft is one of the highlights of the festival, with Ellen, the 1969 Backdecker Berolina winning the pre 1980 class and Douce Vita, a 2003 Jeanneau Runabout 755 coming first in the post 1980 class.

Public vote went to Octopussy, a Riva, Aquarama special from 1974.
