This year’s Abu Dhabi International Boat Show proved that a mid-October event in the capital can easily be accommodated into the busy boat show calendar.
Held at the ADNEC Marina, the yachts, boats and watertoys on display were a huge step up in quality, quantity and variety from last year’s inaugural event. The craft on show were highly targeted to the capital’s boaters, with a concentration of locally built skiffs (ideal for the mangroves) sports fishers and houseboats. Talking of which, Al Kous’ projects are getting ever more adventurous, with the Musaffah-based houseboat builders creating some real head turners.
Abu Dhabi will also be hosting a number of visiting superyachts this month as the Formula One comes to town and there are also some interesting waterside developments coming to fruition over the next few months – exciting times for the capital.
