CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL PREVIEW

What to expect at Europe’s leading in-water boat show.

Yachts

For 6 days under the Mediterranean sun this September, the Cannes Yachting Festival will play host to the boat and yacht industry’s biggest names. According to Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the show, the 2022 edition is shaping up nicely, with 550 exhibitors expected, along with 140 previews, which is in line with last year’s event. However, more boats are expected, with 640 units of all types heading to the Vieux Port and Port Canto.

Perfect location: Bordering an idyllic seafront and at the foot of Le Suquet, the Old Port of Cannes enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the city.

SHOW LAYOUT

The Vieux Port, one of the oldest on the Côte d’Azur, is dedicated to motor power with 490 boats from 5 to 45 metres expected for 2022. Over 80 boats (under 10 metres) will be exhibited on land, whereas the yachts above 22 metres will be exhibited in water at the Jetée. The Super Yachts Extension (SYE) will host 30 luxury craft over 24 metres.

Continuing on from the SYE, the Quai Max Laubeuf will present a number of large yachts including the catamarans, 40 single hull boats and nearly 60 small hard and semi-rigid motor boats (5-10 metres) on land.

Quai Saint-Pierre will exhibit luxury dayboats and the new generation of powerboats, while Pantiero quay will showcase a wide range of motorboats up to 20 metres long.

The Palais des Festivals will house luxury yachting players including shipyards, architects, and designers along with accessories, tourism institutions, and marinas. Outside, the Tender and Toys area will present the latest innovations and watersports developments.
