Together, the departments created an idea for an efficient, long-range yacht with a fresh, penthouse feel. They then looked to Filippo Salvetti, and the studio of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel to turn their concept into the yacht you see here.
The Navetta 30’s exterior was designed by Filippo Salvetti, and he had a length of 28.43 metres and a beam of 7.3 metres to work with. The Bergamo-based designer has been collaborating with the Ferretti Group since 2016, so the Politecnico di Milano graduate knows the brand well.
With the 30, he’s kept the familiar Navetta style which celebrates the bold look of long-range superyachts. It’s a more traditional look compared to the shipyard’s more sportily styled planing yachts, appealing to an Owner who expects style, beauty, and sophistication.
Salvetti’s elegant design flows back from the broad bow with a single, slim black line stretching horizontally, ending at the tip of the aft deck overhang. Bold tinted glazing cuts through the white hull and superstructure with strong, straight lines adding a muscular touch. The Custom Line is almost devoid of curves – Salvetti’s elegant design is strong, proud, and formal.
In contrast to Salvetti’s black and white exterior design, Navetta’s interior spaces are light, bright, and colorful. The Milan-based, multi-disciplinary design practice of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel was tasked with optimising the 30’s volumes while adding modern design details.
All the furniture and furnishings on board have been custom-made by the shipyard’s craftsmen using sophisticated handcrafting and cabinet-making techniques. Natural leathers are paired with textured wood to create a fresh and open feel, much like a modern New York penthouse.
Above, ceiling light units help create a balanced lighting system, working in conjunction with the interior’s focused light sources to highlight design objects and works of art. The yacht’s windows and stairways are also lit to create a warm and inviting ambiance for the Navetta’s guests and Owner.
The Owner has his own full-beam suite forward on the main deck. Measuring a spacious 35-square-meters in area, it’s designed for rest, relaxation, and even a little office work. Details abound here, with the curved finishing of the tables and the leatherwork on the bed’s headboard being particularly impressive.
Forward is the Owner’s bathroom featuring twin basins, heads, and shower starboard, while Micromosaico created the Microframa mosaic exclusively for this project.
There are plenty of places to relax onboard, from the spacious foredeck lounge and broad 34-square-meter cockpit to the well-equipped sky lounge. Up here, the 23-square-meter salon offers unspoiled views of the surrounding ocean with freestanding sofas, poufs, stools, and chaise lounges adding to the relaxed mood.
A quick walk up the spiral staircase leads to the vast sundeck. Refreshingly, it’s totally open up here, with the custom-made sofa and bar allowing guests to really enjoy the sun. For potential Middle East Owners, a bimini top can be erected by the crew, but with so many other shaded spaces onboard, we prefer it open to the skies.
As the Navetta is built to travel, the two MAN turbo diesels fitted give it a transatlantic range of approximately 2,000 nautical miles.
The Navetta’s guests stay in four luxury cabins below deck, which again follow the shapes, textures, and colourways of the main deck.
For when the sun comes out, sea lovers can head to the swim platform to make the most of an advanced version of the Ferretti Group’s Dual Mode Transom. This offers not only the traditional double door movement but also an additional feature that keeps the garage completely dry when closed and acts as a ramp when open to make it easier to launch and recover the Williams SportJet 435 tender and aqua bike.
As the Navetta is built to travel, the two MAN turbo diesel fitted to the first Navetta 30 give it a transatlantic range of approximately 2,000 nautical miles at a cruise speed of 10 knots (preliminary data). There is also an option of twin 1,150mhp MAN V8s which give the yacht a top speed of 15 knots.
A hull design using CFD techniques with tapered stern sections designed by the Ferretti Group Engineering Department makes the Navetta extremely efficient and comfortable, especially when fitted with the zero-speed stabilisers and a Seakeeper.
Safe, efficient, and luxurious the Custom Line Navetta 30 is a bold, modern yacht blessed with relaxing spaces and a penthouse style feel. Ideal for the adventurous Owner, it has the capability to cruise while treating guests to a 5-star living experience.
