Thanks to the hardcore design of BG Design Firm, as well as engineering solutions and sharp hull lines courtesy of Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design, the 70 HT completely stands out both out on the water and in the marina.
The design was largely inspired by the world of aviation and luxury sports cars, especially so the stretched hull which sweeps back from the bow. For the creative teams, when developing a 70-foot yacht, it was important for them to take into account the proportions and lines and then to give them the individuality of OTAM.
Much attention has been paid to the details and stylistic features of the HT, such as a low centre of gravity, the large side air intakes, as well as the unique hardtop. The exhaust vents are cleverly covered with glossy black grilles aft and can be complemented by LED lighting, which becomes another design element in itself.
With a length of 22.3 metres and a beam of 5.4 metres, as well as a deadrise of 21 degrees, the OTAM 70 HT is both perfectly seaworthy and spacious for a high-speed cruiser of this length. This hull features a layout with three cabins: a master suite, two guest cabins, and a separate kitchen and space for two crew members.
OTAM offers a number of options for the deck layout, with the classic cockpit dining area with salon forward, being particularly popular. Here, sofas line up along the port side to accommodate a whole group of friends while a dividing glass partition can be retracted when the sun comes out. This allows guests to enjoy the benefits of both indoor and outdoor living.
“The Owner himself developed a custom layout with three cabins and decided not to have a tendering garage in order to maximise beach club footprint and optimise weight for improved performance,” commented Matteo Belardinelli, OTAM Sales Manager.
With such an aggressive style, OTAM has made sure the 70 HT goes as good as she looks. Owners can choose between 2x 1000hp MAN or MTU engines, with 2x 2400 CATs being the most powerful setup. This gives the OTAM a top speed of 53-knots and watches out for that rooster tail courtesy of the Areneson drives.
