It’s always a pleasure to welcome a new yacht to the region and especially so when it adds a bit of sparkle to the Dubai International Boat Show. For the event, Burgess brought along ISA’s Aquamarina, one of the hugely successful 47.5-metre builds from the Ancona shipyard. Launched in 2007 she’s been turning heads in the Adriatic and West Mediterranean courtesy of her metallic turquoise hull and her elegant Walter Franchini lines.
Measuring under 50-metres, Aquamarina also handily comes in under the 500 Gross Tonnes boundary, but every inch of that interior volume has been created by Cristiano Gatto and with its grand décor, is a surprising contrast to her sporty silhouette.
Up to 12 guests can be accommodated on board, with the Owner’s master suite on the main deck, and an equally impressive VIP suite on Aquamarina’s bridge deck with unrivaled views of the water.
Gatto’s opulent interior spaces are a heady mix of wood, stone and textile, with intricate burr inlays, mosaics and oil paintings creating a decadent look that would appeal to those with classical tastes. There is however, a nod to Japanese culture, as the two twin cabins have been designed with the peaceful simplicity of Zen, complete with sliding screens and Japanese dragon/Kanji script artworks.
Being an ISA, she’s well suited to outdoor living, with the dining and lounge areas on the main and bridge deck all completely open to the sun’s rays – and we mean open – you won’t find any infringing overhangs on Aquamarina.

It’s the same up on the sundeck, where the slimmest of radar arches lets in plenty of sunshine – it is the sundeck, after all.
Performance wise, Aquamarina has been well maintained and upgraded since new, meaning her twin 2,365 MTU turbo diesels can power her through the water at up to 16.8 knots, with cruise speed a couple of knots slower, giving her a range of 4,170
nautical miles.
Classically stylish with some intriguing Japanese surprises, Aquamarina is a superyacht with plenty of character wrapped up in an immediately recognisable hull.
