Mo Khatib takes a look at the new Saxdor Yachts 400 GTO ahead ot its at Cannes debut.

Helsinki headquartered Saxdor Yachts is all set to make waves in the 40-45ft sport boat market, with the launch of its range-topping 400 GTO. Embodying the exceptional performance, seakeeping abilities, and cruising efficiency of Saxdor’s entry-level 200 and mid-range 320 models, the new flagship mixes an innovative layout with a trusted drivetrain.

INNOVATIVE LAYOUT

Normally you would expect to see a walk-around layout on a 40-footer, however, the 400 features a full beam wheelhouse, maximising internal space. Guests can experience even greater amounts of space courtesy of the cockpit’s folding balconies, and there’s a glass transom providing a connection to the ocean.

Below deck, there’s a spacious forward double cabin with a separate bathroom, and a kids’ cabin plus an amidships double cabin are both options.

Style and space: The open wheelhouse extends to the full beam of the boat, maximising internal living space and offering direct access to the side terraces

TRUSTED DRIVETRAIN

Built on an elongated twin-stepped 320 hull and designed for a twin Mercury outboard rig, the 400 GTO promises outstanding on-water performance. At the time of going to press, we don’t have any performance figures, however we do know that with a pair of 300hp Mercury’s, the 320 GTO has a 40-knot top speed and cruised close to 30 knots.

Enjoy the open layout: The 400 GTO creates a private island experience while at rest.

Stay in comfort: The lower deck accommodates a spacious forward double cabin, a separate bathroom, an option for a kids’ cabin and an amidships double cabin.

CANNES

Make your way to Saxdor’s stand at Cannes (QML005) and check out the 400 GTO for yourself. Also on display will be the 320 GTO, while the 270 GTO will be on stand QML305, and you’ll find the 205 at Palais 107.
