Sweden’s Nimbus has been building, fast, solid, safe boats since 1968. Since its founding, the yard has become Scandinavia’s leading boat building company and captured the imagination of enthusiasts including tennis legend Björn Borg, car stylist Nuccio Bertone and even the King of Sweden, Carl Gustaf.

EASY BOATING

Nimbus boats, like this T11 are built to be instinctive. Over the years, the yard has perfected ergonomics and ease of use, resulting in a craft that can take on angry waters without a problem.

“In the T11’s design and development process, we deliberately focused on simplicity for everyone on board,” commented Nimbus Technical Director Mats Jacobsson. “It includes being able to easily and conveniently board, or leave the boat; to load, to travel, to stay aboard and to own the boat.”

At 12.4 metres, the T11 has flexible spaces for up to 12 guests and plenty of thought has gone into its amenities. There’s decent fridge space for storing food and drink, a proper galley with barbecue, a large bathing platform with room for several people and finally, an extra-large but easily accessible stowage area for gear and toys.

“Everything that has to do with your Nimbus should feel natural and easy regardless of activity, said Jacobsson. “When things are easy, we quite simply feel more relaxed and can focus on the boating experience.”

EASY TO HANDLE

The T11’s comfortable ergonomics continue at the helm, where the skipper benefits from a commanding position, supported by a wide selection of electronic equipment.

Performance wise, the hull is ready for any number of outboards. Standard are twin Mercury Verado 300s, with Mercury options including 2x 350hp and 2x 400hp, plus a 2x 320hp Volvo Penta D4 set up. Interestingly, OXE chose the T11 as the test bed for its 300 twin turbo diesel outboards featured in Boat Kit this month. Max speed is a breezy 40+knots and thanks to the stepped hull and sharp bow section, the T11 boats exceptional seaworthiness. Over-engineered for the Middle East perhaps, but the T11’s capabilities make it a safe, family boat.
