DUBAI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW TO DROP ANCHOR

The Middle East's premier boat show returns and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Yachts

From sublime superyachts and comfortable cruisers, to dynamic day boats and crazy catamarans, they’ll all be on show at the 2019 Dubai International Boat Show.

Now settled in its Dubai Canal setting, the biggest boat show on the Middle East’s calendar will once again host the biggest names in the marine and leisure industry. For 2019, the organisers are expecting over 400 yachts, boats and sea craft to grace the marina, which will make it the biggest event yet. There’s plenty to see and do, whether you’re buying, browsing or just coming along for some world class Instagram shots.

SUPER YACHT AVENUE

As seven out of the Top 10 largest superyachts are Middle East owned, then its no surprise that to find that DIBS is of great importance to the big shipyards. Joining Majesty Yachts on the marina floor will be Feadship, Fincantieri, Oceanco, Lürssen, CRN, SanLorenzo, Heesen, Benetti, Baglietto and Amels.

Unlike the recent Dusseldorf boat show (where it snowed) Dubai is very much a warm and sunny outdoor event. Here in the marina, you can view the various superyachts, motor cruisers and sailing boats in the water, or even have a go yourself in the Sailing Experience. There’s plenty to watch out on the water too, with Flyboard, PWC Freestyle and the UAE Aquabike Championships taking place during the show.

HOME GROWN TALENT

Although DIBS is a global event with exhibitors from across the world, it’s the local manufacturers who really get to shine at the Canal. Of course, sport fishers are huge in the local market and these days local boat builders such as IMG and Emirates Boats have the quality and performance to take on the big American centre console brands.

And with live entertainment going on all through the day and night, food stalls to enjoy and special offers throughout, it’s well worth a day out at DIBS this year.

Dubai International Boat Show 2019 takes place from February 26 to March 2 at the tip of the Dubai Canal, just along the road from the Dubai Ladies Club and the Four Seasons Resort. The show opens at 3pm and closes at 9pm with tickets starting from AED 25.
